Do you know the best way to get out in an emergency?
Or if you were instructed to stay inside, do you know which room offers the best shelter?

  1. Draw a floor plan of your home or residence
  2. Put in place all windows and doors
  3. Identify two escape routes
  4. Identify where you would go if you were told to stay in your house. Ideally, choose an interior room with the fewest doors and windows
  5. Identify the location of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency supplies, and utility shut-offs

Important note:  If you live in a high rise, know your building evacuation plan.
