American Red Cross in Greater New York's Director of Logistics, Travis Betz, is part of an international Red Cross team providing relief to survivors of a devastating earthquake that struck Indonesia in May.

Travis, a Relief Delegate for Bantul Province, is working with the Indonesian Red Cross through the International Federation of Red Cross/ Red Crescent Societies. Travis will be in Indonesia for one month.

The Red Cross is helping to distribute food parcels, tarpaulins for shelter, hygiene kits and baby kits to Indonesians affected by the May 27, 2006 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck near the city of Yogyakarta on Java, killing about 6,000, injuring 50,000 and displacing 200,000.
