Top Credit Suisse and American Red Cross in Greater New York executives were on hand for the launch of Credit Suisse's Ready When the Times Comes (RWTC) employee recruitment drive on September 12th at their U.S. headquarters on Madison Square in Manhattan.
While many organizations target 30 volunteers for their RWTC team, Credit Suisse is striving to have hundreds of employees join the disaster reserve corps that will be called upon in the event of a major local disaster, like severe flooding or a widespread blackout. Credit Suisse"s full-day promotional effort, complete with a special website, drawings for safety gear and top management support, encouraged more than 500 employees to register for the required Red Cross training courses.
Attending the official launch of the program were, pictured above from left, ARC/GNY Chief External Affairs Officer Rosemary W. Mackey, Credit Suisse Vice Chairman, Fixed Income, Doug Paul, Credit Suisse Americas Region COO Lewis Wirshba and Americas Region CEO Rob Shafir, ARC/GNY CEO Theresa A. Bischoff, and Credit Suisse Investment Banking CEO Paul Calello and Credit Suisse Americas Foundation Executive Director Eric Eckholdt.
Chapter volunteers also distributed thousands of pieces of preparedness information to Credit Suisse employees and other workers.
