American Red Cross honored Gabriela Garcia, Community Development Associate, Community Development ARC/GNY Manhattan, with the organization's highest award in ceremonies at the American Red Cross in Greater New York Headquarters on November 30, 2007 in Manhattan.
Ms. Garcia won the Tiffany Award for Employee Excellence from the local Chapter. Ms. Garcia, left, with ARC/GNY Manhattan Director Sonia Martinez and Senior Director, Community Development Olivier Szlos, was cited for her outstanding work in administrative support, including helping to establish the Manhattan Area Office, serving on inter-departmental committees, and working closely with local Hispanic, Chinese and other community organizations to promote ARC/GNY preparedness and lifesaving training programs, along with disaster relief services.
Ms. Garcia was also cited for her outstanding participation in ARC/GNY community outreach programs, managing a group of trained volunteers who help her deliver outreach programming year-round in Manhattan. For the past two years, Ms. Garcia was also recognized by the Mexican Day Parade organization, last year as Madrina (godmother) of the parade, and this year as Guest of Honor.
