Greater New York Chapter Receives Donations from the CCBA for International Disaster Relief

Left to right: Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) President Justin C. Yu, ARC/GNY Chief External Affairs Officer Rosemary Mackey, and former CCBA President Eric NG at Chapter Headquarters in Manhattan on Wednesday February 27, 2008. Mr. Yu and Mr. Ng presented the Chapter with a check for $40,000 for Red Cross relief efforts after the most serious snowstorms in three decades in eastern, central and southern China affected 77.8 million people, 827,000 of whom had to be relocated. The organization also donated $6,200 to the Red Cross Bangladesh Relief Fund created to provide aid after a cyclone devastated Bangladesh’s southwestern coast in November, 2007, destroying 458,804 houses and affecting 4 million people.
